Second Composition Draft

Second Composition Draft

For my second composition I have chosen to use different sources of water as my inspiration. I have recorded sound from varying taps, waves at the beach, and rivers and waterfalls.

I knew that after my first composition I should consider the structure of my pieces more and I am using the different sources as different sections. I am not settled on the final structure.

However, I will use the A B structure overall. Each water source will act as its own section, currently I have tap sounds as the A section and rivers and waterfalls as the B.

I am enjoying transitioning between the different types of sounds I have recorded. While they all sound similar, the sound being created from water, they still need to be intentionally placed to indicate contrasting sections.

Some feedback in a lecture was to use the midi keyboard to pitch shift some of my sounds, this will create a wider contrast of pitches within the piece.

I am yet to play with this feature but I intend to use it to create more contrasting sounds, it should help me create more interesting transitions through sounds.

Below, I have uploaded the section which features sounds from my taps into rivers and waterfalls.
